Located about 20 km north of the district headquarters, Jaitwara is a small but rapidly growing village.
Brief History
The British discovered deposits of bauxite and coke/white/yellow earth near the village of Birsinghpur which is 10 km away. However when the railway line was constructed through Satna, it passed through Jaitwara. Gradually Jaitwara dominated as the railway line provided easier means for communication and business. Many of todays residents (including my relatives) continue to operate bauxite mines from Jaitwara.
I shall also post pictures of the village of Jaitwara once I have them digitized.
